Am I a virologist? My degree certificate lists "microbiology" so maybe I am not. My research interests are in the area of Virus-Host Interactions. During my PhD I worked on a virus which at the time was not known to cause any serious human disease - a Coronavirus. So am I a virologist? I think I am.
